Crystal Stevens

I've always been drawn to caring for others. Long before I ever knew what a doula was, I found myself being invited into birth space. I provided comfort, calm, and guidance, to friends and family as they welcomed their babies. After the birth of my fourth child, I finally decided to follow that calling and formally trained as a doula, turning what came naturally into my vocation.

For more than 5 years I supported families as an agency doula, supporting clients through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. After my father passed away, I took time to travel and volunteered at a maternity home for Indigenous girls in Costa Rica. That experience profoundly shaped my work and deepened my commitment to reproductive justice and compassionate care.

In 2019, I joined Birth Mark, a charitable organization that supported marginalized communities through pregnancy and postpartum. As the Operations Manater for the Hamilton location, I spent four years building partnerships and expanding access to reproductive and postpartum support across Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara.

​

When my first grandchild was born in 2023, I felt called back to the hands-on work I love most - supporting families directly through Niagara Doulas. Today I bring all of my experience, empathy, and calm energy to each family I work with, helping them feel informed, confident, and cared for through every stage of their parenting journey.

I currently live in Thorold, where I am a proud mom of four children and "Lolli" to my sweet grandbabies. When I'm not working with families, you can find me wrapped in a cozy blanket with a cup of coffee, listening to an audiobook, or enjoying a quiet campfire.
